Describe an experience with your students that you had this year that made you proud to be a teacher.
What about that moment resonated with you?
What advice might you give a teacher who will be stepping into the classroom for the very first time next August that will help him or her avoid a pitfall?

Describe a project or assignment you have taught this year that took into special consideration the cultural experiences/histories/traditions of your student population and met the academic needs of all your students, ranging from Special Ed. (Excel) to 504s to GATE.
What sort of planning was required to incorporate all the different elements and needs of your students into the lesson(s)?
What difficulties did you encounter?
What problem-solving techniques did you use?
What changes (if any) will you make for the lesson the next time?
What environmental factors do you see influencing student well-being in your classroom each day?
Please give a suggestion or two of things you do with your students within your classroom to promote/influence student well-being.
Give an example of an instructional strategy you have used recently that provides accommodations for a GATE student in your classroom.
Give an example of an instructional strategy that you have used recently that provided accommotations for a Special Ed./504 student in your classroom.
What results did you observe as a result of these accommodations?
Might you do something differently next time? If so, what?
Give an example of an instructional practive that helped you develop academic language in your subject area for English Language Learners. 
What improvements in student achievement did you notice as a result of your practice?
Induction Standard 17: Supporting Equity, Diversity, and Access to Core Curriculum

Write about a personal experience with racism you have had as a teacher: having been the object of racism, having observed racism, having been racist... How did you deal with the incident?  How has this impacted your professional practice in the classroom?

Here are the training dates for  the FAS Induction program.  You will be doing either Year 1 or Year 2.  
All trainings will be taking place at Heritage High School upstairs in the conference room.  
Be sure to turn in your sub requests and call Mallie well in advance so that you will have a sub each time.  
If you have any questions, let me know.

Year 1:  August 17, August 31, October 24, December 5.

Year 2: October 19, November 30, February 1.

Thank you very much for your willingness to coach our new teachers.

Standard 16: Using Technology to Support Student Learning

Standard 17: Supporting Equity, Diversity, and Access to Core Curriculum

Standard 18: Creating a Supportive and Healthy Environment for Learning

Standard 19: Teaching English Language Learners

Standard 20: Teaching Special Populations

During the year, you will be designing and implementing lesson plans that incorporate the elements of these standards.

You will also need to reflect on how these standards improve your practice as a teacher and how your improved practice leads to improved student learning.

If you have any questions about the status of your credential or requirements for obtaining your credential, go the the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing at http://www.ctc.ca.gov and find what you are looking for.  There are currently more than 17 different ways for a person to receive a clear credential.  It is critical that you know what you need to do to clear your credential.
